2009 Focus check engine light
Hello,
The check engine light is on steady on a 2009 Focus. On one of my previous vehicles, I was able to get the code of a check engine light without a reader. I used a sequence of turning the key to get the code to appear on the instrument panel. My question is if such a method exists with the 2009 Focus? If so, please advise details.
Thanks!

Maybe a different manufacturer used that method, but not Ford..
The better thing to do is stop somewhere like an Autozone store, where they will check your vehicle for codes at no charge.
I would suggest you don't buy any parts until we know for sure what is wrong. The code only provides direction for the service person to begin checking.
You might post the code(s) here, and we might be able to offer some assistance. What do you think ?
