2016 Ford Focus SE stereo issues.
I’ve recently been having trouble with my stereo/speakers giving out a very loud popping and cracking/scratching noice whenever I’m listening to normal radio or if I have my bluetooth connected. I’ve tried changing the fuse that I thought needed changing hoping it would work and still have the issue. At this point I don’t know what to do and just want to disconnect the wire from the ignition switch or do whatever I have to do to disconnect the radio completely until I can figure out how to fix it without taking it to a dealership and being charged an arm and a leg. With this pandemic going on I’m trying to go the cheapest route can anyone give me any suggestions please?
Usually when we get a cracking noise from an audio system , it can be caused by spark jumping someplace.. The idea is to try to find just where this could be taking place and either correcting the cause or sometimes installing a capacitor to filter out interference noises. Without some special equipment to pin down the source ,It can be a challenge.
One method that sometimes works is to remove/disconnect certain components through the process of elimination.
It could be something like a poor connection where a spark is not necessarily produced but an intermittent make and break connection. Sometimes we stumble on the cause early on and sometimes it can take quite a while to determine just where it is coming from.
