2016 Ford Focus transmission control module failing
My son’s girlfriend has a 2016 Ford Focus that started having transmission problems. They hooked it up to a computer and found that one of the transmission control modules was bad and they replaced it. All was well for a week when it went bad again. They have since purchased a Genuine Ford replacement that has allowed the car to be driven again but it now has a lag when shifting and a noise like as they put it “ a playing card in the spokes of a bike”. They haven’t driven it since. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to check next. Should this be under warranty. They have had minimal assistance from the local dealers.
Thanks

One thing you might do is check what her vehicle's owner manual states regarding warranty/
It is unknown at this time if the previous owner, if there was one, had purchased any kind of extended warranty.
You might get a better answer if you checked with a different dealership.

If you need the vehicle, you don't have much choice, By the time the brand you want to install may be available, but at least you have a vehicle to use.
It comes down to , do you want to pay for a part that might last or hold on to the $$ until what you want becomes available and be without a vehicle?
Sometimes we need to do what we need to do and that's it ! Dorman products are pretty reliable , and we don't know the history of why some folks had problems from them.
