Default Cabin Air Filter

Hello
I have a 2002 Focus SEwith the 2.0 liter engine. I lent this vechicle to my son so he could have something to drive while he was waiting to be shipped out to Iraq. Anyway he let his buddies smoke in it. I have been trying like everything to get the smoke smell out of the car. It was suggested to replace the cabin air filter - so with all of that here is my question. Where is that located? I have looked high and low. Does that make and model even have one? Thanks for the help!

Default RE: Cabin Air Filter

The cabin air filter is located under the hood on the passenger side under the black trim where your windshield wiper motorwould be, drivers side has a bunch of holes in it , passenger side does not, should be aprox 4 plastic clips to remover cover/trim piece. Never replaced mine, just saw in in the Haines repair manual and found it to be nifty, looks like it came in handy, so good luck!!!
