Default Trailer wiring

Hi,

I'm about to buy a focus, and I'd like to put a trailer hitch on the back. This, I know how to do...but I have no idea how to wire up the car to connect to the brake lights on the trailer. Has anyone done this, or does anyone know how to do it?

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil..

When you get your Focus, I can send you a wire schematic for wire/lamp 'functions' and colors for identification, and a harness overview that shows the harness route..

Wow, thanks for the snappy response! Is there a kit available? I'd like to know if it's a big enough cost that I should plan for it.Or does the wiringjustget tapped intothe car tail lights, or does it get tapped in up under the hood, or something else?

Thanks again,
Phil

If you're not worried about warranty or anything, just tap into the wiring harness in the back, use the schematic or just follow the brake/turning signals wires
