Why can't these be avalable state side?
I was just reading about the european focus in the new Motor trend about the ten best cars not avalable state side- #4 Ford Focus ST- built on the Mazda3 and Volvo S40 platform, with a 220 horsepower Volvo five cylinder turbo. According to the artical, it is 10 seconds faster than the RS around the Nurburgring. Also, there is said to be a 300 horse AWD version in development. according to the artical, it will not become avalable in the states because Ford does not see a demand!!

They are probably right for now. May cost too much money to get a plant going, They would probably have to re-engineer because of the environmental wacko's and US laws, and we are still in the SUV erra, so they are focused on them.

i would be happy if they put that 2.0 supercharged I-4 they use on the rally cars, it makes roughly 500 bhp. Don't be discouraged my friend its always been like that. in the late 80's early 90's they had "Ford Escorts" with super charged v-6's that put out almost 200 hp while the american version "GT" only put out about 110 hp.with the optional HO 1.9 liter
