wiper blades
wiper blade replacement made easy in the - temperature. Sure enough the first day it got cold , in the - teens, the kid calls. Her wiper blade "broke" and she didn't know what to do. Now we have 3 fords with the same wiper system (2012 focus & 2 2015 escapes) and I have summer experience trying to replace worn wipers. Yes I know the video shows it's easy-peasy, but it's not so grasshopper, blood and a lot of swearing is my usual experience. So cold temps are not going to make this job easier, right, ah not so quick, I found a bloodless 5 minute way. I beatled over to the salvage yard and bought a right and a left arm for $30, I already had new blades from a summer failed attempt at changing blades. Sitting at the kitchen counter it was easy to remove the old blade and put in a new one. Then with a 15mm socket wrench it only took about 5 minutes to remove the wiper arm and replace it with the salvage arm with a new blade. And my hands did not get cold and not a drop of blood was spilled (when you hit 75 just bumping your hand on anything solid causes the blood to leak). So I know it looks like a big expense and more work, but it sure makes that pain in the a$$ job a snap, and if you are old like me , it shows you are not that"useless old sack of )(* " that the wife says you are.
