has anyone ever replaced a heater core on a 5.4l. if so, how difficult was it. the garage wanted to charge me 770.00 to have this done. i asked if they supplied the vasoline also. that is just crazy money to pull the dash out. anyway, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

 

This is not an easy job, your truck is 15 years old and all the plastic components and dsah are very brittle and easy to break, it takes time and patience to do the job correctly without causing any damage. I've done this job many times when I worked at a dealership, lots of work involved, pay up or do it yourself.
