my 07 F250 makes a chattering noise when first put in reverse,but it doesnt do it all the time.It is an auto. I had it to the local dealer but they couldnt find anything.They want to pull the tranny out,but told me the problem may not be covered by the warrenty.It is a 4wd diesel crew cab.Any ideas? Thanks

 

A lot of dealerships no longer do actual trans overhaul work. They found it was cheaper to send it out to their rebuilder for repair or exchange. That may be why they can't guaranty warranty coverage. Time and miles are also a consideration.
