96 F350 rear brakes uncommanded actuating
Rear brakes are hot.....starting smoking.
Obviously I wasn't applying the brakes.
Bad ABS model? Bad rear axle sensor?
Problem right now is I have 800 miles to go today/tomorrow. Can I/should I disconnect the ABS somehow? How to do that?

If you applied the parking brake , and don't use it much, the cables could be stuck and partially applying the rear brakes.
If you pull the ABS fuse, they can't apply/release, so that would get rid of that if it is the cause.
If you get under your vehicle and look at the rear brake cables, they should not be taut, but have some slack. If tight, they are stuck and most times you need to remove the drum to pull the sticking cables back to completely release the tension on the shoes.

Pulled #15 fuze in the cabin. ABS light on. Brakes still hot. Parking cable loose enough for me to disconnect by hand...so I did. Trying that now. One iNet source showed engine compartment relay 5 was ABS pump. But truck wouldn't start with that pulled.
Let me back up here a bit.... yesterday the truck was off and no key in it. The truck brake light came on. All by themselves. Truck wasn't running and no one was in it. I thought.....bad brake controller or bad ABS. It wasn't hooked to a trailer.
Should have asked this earlier.
One wheel or both?
Have had only one instance where adjuster over adjusted, very possible
If only one wheel, you probably will need to remove the drum and do a visual inspection because something is going on there.
If there is a broken return spring , a shoe could be dragging.
