bronco 2 1988

Default bronco 2 1988

Its four wheel drive. I am having a problem the charging system. It has a new starter silanoid,new altnater and the battery is not very old but it won't keep a charge I have to charge the battery every other day and then it dies

You could have a failing battery, or a parasitic load staying on. A battery with a single cell that is starting to sulfate will cause the issue your having. I had that problem with a 6 month old battery from Autozone (posted about that somewhere on the forum). To check for a KO drain, put an amp meter on your positive battery lead and see what type of load there is after turning everything off. Being a 1988, it should be reading almost 0. Newer vehicles may read as much as 500mV when sleeping. If you have 1+ amp draw, start pulling fuses until the draw goes away. The fuse you pull that makes the draw go away will lead you to the culprit.
