Engine was ticking and had codes p0345 and p0349. Brought it to an auto shop and they said my timing system needs to be replaced. Does $3400 seem unreasonable?

 

A good shop will not usually complain if you obtain other estimates for the job. Just make sure they are doing the same thing and providing the same parts

Short cuts can sometimes cost less , but only in the beginning. Sometimes, we wind up paying more in the long run.
