Excusion front brake upgrade
New here. This subject has been thrown around prior I'm sure. I want to increase braking on my '05 Excursion, but want to use factory parts. During research, comparing part #'s and dimensions from Rock Auto, looks like '05 F450 takes the same front rotors. No advantage there. Newer (2015ish) F250 / 350 take larger rotors and different calipers + brackets. I'm running factory 2015 20" rims. Anyone know if these would bolt on? Looks like rotors are about 1" bigger.
Hi Bob,
Having had this brought to my attention a few years back while attending a factory class of instruction, Some insurance companies will will walk out from under a policy it the vehicle has been altered in any way from original build and certification even if the "Improvement" made the vehicle more efficient. This is probably intended to prevent unauthorized alterations that could affect vehicle operation. So , it might pay to check around before upgrading the vehicle.
