Default Help!!!

I have a 1993 f150 5.0. Had the Tranny rebuilt installed it and won’t start. Before I removed Tranny it would start but would not idle unless I kept my foot on the gas. Installed new Tranny and won’t start. I’ve replaced spark plugs, distributor cap, rotor and plugs and battery. Truck turns over but doesn’t seem like it’s getting spark. Can someone please help. Truck was my grandfathers and he is no longer here so would really like to get the truck rolling again thank you all in advance for any advice

Since you said it turns over(cranks), we can rule out the neutral safety switch on the transmission. You already said part of it, so check for spark with an old plug or spark tester. Then if needed, check fuel pressure off the rail. It should be 30-45 psi.

mill check that out. Took the starter down and had it tested it was good so idk. Hit it w a hammer a little and it sparked like once shot white smoke but wouldn’t start

Some always try to fix things with a hammer. Keep your hammer for driving in nails.

If,,,,,,,you didn't touch the hot terminal and ground with the hammer trick and got sparks, there may be a problem up the road with the starter.
If it ran before you replaced the trans check over your work to make sure you didn't hook up a wire or wires.
As suggested earlier, check for spark. That is the easiest check to do. Do you know how to do that?

Next try some starting fluid into the throttle body and see if the engine attempts to start. If the engine attempts to start, check fuel pressure as I suggested earlier.

Did the starter fluid a few days ago and nothing. Fuel in fuel rails for sure pushed the valve stem down and gas came out. Fuel pump works. Would it be possible for the time to be that far off to not cause enough spark to start? Just don’t see why it won’t crank now even with jumper cables it cranks faintly

Pushing on the shrader valve proves nothing. If you look at my previous response, I mentioned you need 30-45 psi of fuel pressure. Just because it squirted out is irrelevent. However, the engine should have attempted to start with starting fluid.
If you verified that spark and proper fuel pressure is present, I would check the engine's compression. If all cylinders are low, the timing chain could have jumped. Many times if the chain jumped several teeth on the gears, due to the lower compression the engine will sound like it is cranking faster.
