Default Need Help, brakes on grinding can't figure it out

hello everyone,

I am new to this thread and need some help. I have a 1933 Ford street rod with a Mustang front end with disk brakes and the rear end comes out of a 1978 Lincoln Versailles that is also disk brakes. The problem I am having is the car's brakes will grind going in reverse but the grind does not happen in forward or neutral. I have check everything and this one has me stumped. Any help with this would be appreciated before I have to take it in. If you need any other information that would help to diagnose this please let me know.

what does grind mean.....they apply in reverse or just make noise? Have you removed and inspected the pads? Are the backing plates contacting the rotors. This will make a tinny scraping noise.

Did this just start happening, indicating the system worked properly at one time. Was the system always like that since you bought the car?

What else was changed in the system....metering, proportion valves.?? You now have a vacuum booster on it? These parts were from the 78?

Are the disk pads installed correctly? Unusual question, but I have seen the metal side of the pads installed against the disk.
