Default No start no crank

Hello I have a 1994 ford f250 inline v6 4.9l 5 speed, at first when I filling up the tank with ethernol free gas(it's my first time owning a obd1 truck and the person I bought the truck off of said to put ethernol free into it), after putting some gas in both tanks l, drove it about few minutes down the street and it just shut off, will crank but no start, after a few weeks when it happened it started to have no crank and killing the battery, installed a brand new battery cranked once and killed the battery installed. Would like to know a good starting point to do and where to begin.
thank you

When you say cranked once, how long did you try cranking it?

If only a few seconds, there could be a poor connection where the battery cables connect to the engine.
We don't know the condition of the starter yet.
What you can try is make sure the battery has a good charge, turn on the headlights ,and attempt to start the engine.
What do the headlamps do, nothing, go dim, go out completely. This quick check should tell us if the battery and connections are good , if there is a problem with the starter motor, Or something else.
Let us know what results you received, thanks.

The first time I tried cranking it about 3 seconds or more multiple times and I keep on pressing the gas pedal and holding down the clutch and/or have it in first gear when it first happed.
When I first got it I had to replace both the starter solenoid and the starter itself.
Now it just kills the battery instally, and i wont do anything.

Hi Richard,
First ,,,,,,,,,,,you don't need to use ethanol free gasoline in your truck., it is just costing you extra $$. Regular is fine.

Forums are good, but If possible get a book that tells you a little about vehicle maintenance and it will repay every penny you spend if you use the info.

Do you have the tools and know how to remove spark plugs? The reason I ask is; when your vehicle quits running, and if it will not restart., remove one of the spark plugs.

What we are looking for is if the part of the plug that is inside the combustion chamber is wet or dry.

If it is wet and won't start , we look for an ignition problem. If it is dry we look for a fuel problem. Can you do this?

You only need to check one spark plug.

From the pix, can't tell if plug is wet or dry ,plus how long has it been out, did it dry off?
