Default Putting a v8 from an 88 F150 into a 93

So I have to replace my 5.0L 302 V8 in my 1993 F150. I found a donor engine in an 1988 F150, also an EFI 5.0 L. I was wondering if anyone sees any issues putting an engine from an 88 into a 93

Sometimes it a good idea to get the whole picture before offering suggestions.

Soooo,,,,
What went wrong with the orig engine from the 93?
The 302s did have some problems with soft valve guides and miles on the engines are a consideration.
Can you bring us up to speed on what happened?
Sometimes another point of view helps.

I haven’t had a chance to inspect the damage as I was on vacation when it happened but I am told a receiving rod seized and then proceeded to project itself through the oil pan. I guess oil was everywhere

the ford technician said it would make more sense to replace the engine than fix it, but I plan on inspecting the engine when I pull it. But if I were to guess, most of the engine is still good. You can start it but it runs very rough and doesnt move the truck

At this point what caused the rod brg to seize needs to be determined. As you are probably aware running it will only do more damage. Most dealerships don't want to get involved with rebuilding, installing a reman is less time consuming and more profitable.
You probably could use the engine, but there will be some differences due to emission stuff.
