Default 2004 driving lights/lamp question

Hello.

I just purchased a 2004 ford freestar, and I have a few questions:

#1.) Mine was made in Canada or by ford canada. The VIN starts with a 2. Does this have the driving lights? You know the ones that are always on?

#2.) I was looking at the headlight, and noticed a small white bulb in between the headlight and blinker, but it doesn't seem to come on for anything.

That's about it for now. Thanks in advance for your time & help.

Kevin

Do you mean DRL? Day time running lights...

Is it #6 in the picture?

Yes I believe so. I attached a image clearing showing the bulb/light section I'm talking about. Please check this, and let me know. Thanks. I do mean the DRL. How do I turn them on?

That small bulb I mentioned was a marker light..

Here's the DRL info..

IF the SJB (smart junction box) is configured for daytime running lamps (DRL), this feature illuminates the low beam headlamps at a reduced intensity when the following conditions exist:
[*]the ignition switch is in the RUN position[*]the headlamp switch is in the OFF position[*]the autolamps feature has not illuminated the exterior lamps[*]the transmission is in DRIVE[/ul]

My van doesn't have the AUTOLAMP option. So I dont have DRL, right?

The light I pointed out in my image above doesn't light up at all. Any ideas?

Could it be the sensor to tell the computer when the running lights should turn on?

By the way - he already said there is no other bulb for the system - it just lights your regular low beam headlight automatically and not as bright.

I'm not sure what this bulb does. This is what I'm asking here.

Also I want to know if my van has DRL or not. I was told if it was made in Canada it's standard to have DRL.

Not necessarily..

Autolamps and DRL are two functions which can be configured in the SJB. (smart junction box) The function/requirements for DRL activation would be the same only with no autolamp.. The DRL's are actually the lowbeam headlights with a lower illumination by a pulse voltage.. The small bulb 'looks' like a side marker light..
