Hello,

I was reading the earlier 2004 Freestar Liftgate thread, and I have a slightly different problem. The liftgate locking mechanism in the door is stuck or jammed in the lock position. Because of this, the door will not close properly. I do not know if the lock is broken or jammed. Does anyone have schematics on how to remove the door panel and replace this? Is this something I can do myself? I know a few mechanics who might be able to help, if I could get the panel off. Thank you.
