liftgate handle trouble

Had the handle come off in my hands as well, any one with the fix instructions would you please send them.

Help! I cannot believe I am reading these posts. I have the "handle in my hand-not connected to the vehicle" problem which came after the "liftgate" wont stay open problem on my 2004 freestar. I would greatly appreciate the instructions. Any tips to make it a simple as possible would be greatly appreciated. Some descriptions seem complicated- this may be do to the fact that I have not attempted the fix yet. Without the visual...well, you know.
