Replacing the struts is an easy job. I bought mine at autozone for $30 a piece and they come with instructions on how to remove the old and install the new.

FYI-

I will be out of town for about a week. If you need the instructions, post your request and somebody will probably get them to you. Otherwise, I will fill all requests when I get back.

Default Help Please.

I had the handle come off in my hand yeaserday when I got home from with the back full of groceries. It was interesting getting them out. I am happy to hear that we should be able to fix it ourselves. Can someone please forward me the full details? Thanks!!

New member- seems like a common problem with this handle. Mine won't unlock- can pull at the handle- lock/unlock on switch- a few hundred times. At first it would catch after a while, now it doesn't do anything. 2004- took off the little 2x2 plastic- pulled at the wire- nothing. Lever goes up- clicks- and nothing. Stuck a screwdriver in there- monkeyed around- went right- went left- nothing. Definitely could use the schematics to get the thing opened- then don't know what to do. Replace the unit or the whole damn vehicle? Seems like a design flaw to me, as I had Caravans for years without any problems except transmissions and A/C.

All I have is the instructions to take the panels off the door to get to the handle from the inside. I can send those to you if you think they might help. Just send me an email at minnesotamike at charter.net

Hey MinnesotaMike: Would you kindly send me info to put the liftgate handle back onto my 2006 Freestar? What is the head of the fasteners for the inside handle? Thanks,
