Would anyone be able to guide me in the right direction to find instructions on removing the interior panel for the driver's side door of my 2006 ford freestar? I have been able to find instructions for the 04-05 model, but the 06 has a different panel, and I'm having trouble removing it, and can't seem to find any good information on the internet about removing it. Just trying to change out the factory speakers, but need some help with the panel.

 

 

I also wanted to replace the speakers in my Freestar. Crutchfield sent me the instruction on how to do it, but things were different on mine. Finally my son realized that there was indeed a 4" x 4" cover to pull off just underneath the opening where you grip to close the door. Underneath that, there is a phillips screw, and after you remove the screw just lift the panel upward.

To get the door lock actuator back in it's hole, I passed a small hose through the opening, and then onto the rod. Then as I put the panel back on, I kept the hose tight and the rod was guided into the opening. Also, make sure you've got the wires for the door locks (green plug) coming through the top opening before you push the panel down.
