Code P0060
Hi,
Was wondering if anyone can help out here. I had transmission on my 2004 Freestar replaced (used) and the crooks that put in the new/used tranny, besides installing a TAURUS transmission, also damaged an O2 sensor. Check engine light was on with code p2197 (bank 2, sensor 1). I replaced upstream sensor with new Bosch product and that code stayed away but now I have a new code - P0060. What can be wrong here? Any help appreciated!

I won't go as far as saying the O2 sensor you installed might have a problem, but the code indicates a problem with the O2 sensor heater circuit. A fuse could be open supplying power to the heater of the sensor, or the wiring to the sensor may have been pinched or broken. With the key on, engine cold, there should be 12 volts applied to one of the sensor wires that connect to the sensor in question. If the power is there the ground could be faulty or a problem with the sensor as far as compatibility is concerned. When possible use OEM (Ford) sensors.
