My 2005 Freestar with 62,000 miles sometimes will not shift from 1st to 2nd gear. The engine winds very high and will finally shift when I back off the gas. This only happens when the transmission is warm and is very random. Fluid has been changed every 30,000 miles and recall on torque convertor has been done. I've looked everywhere and cannot find an answer but have read of other people with this problem. Thanks.

 

Hey, Did you ever get it solved? I have a code U1059 that the ABS circuit is not communicating with the instrument cluster. Any ideas what specific problem that could be?

 

Hey Littlehawk. Sorry I can't help with your code. I finally went to one of those web sites where you ask a Ford mechanic and pay a small fee. He gave a list of most likely causes and told me which would require removal of the trans. What I did since my problem was when hot was install an aftermarket trans cooler and I have not had a problem since.
