I purchased a salvaged 2019ord fusion and I a missing the sensor connector for the hood latch. This sensor tells the computer if the hood is fully latched or open. Does anyone know if I can just short the two terminals on the end of the wire connector to show the hood is closed? I am guessing it is just a proximity sensor so I was hoping if I shorted it out it would show the circuit closed.

That could be how it works, only if you short it to show continuity , you will never know if the hood is not completely latched unless you check.

You might be able to install a typical switch like a dome light switch but it has to show continuity when depressed not like a dome light sw.
