Default P0442? CEL Fuel Filler Pipe Replacement

This code is all too common on the Fusions and Mkz car lines. What it all stems from is the capless fuel filler neck not sealing up after filling the car with gas. Now before you replace the filler neck you can try my cleaning method in my original video but many will come down to replacing the filler neck to get the proper seal. In this video I show you how you can do it yourself and save a bit of money since this is not covered under emissions warranty. If you have a check engine light that keeps coming back and even the dealer cant seem to fix it this may very well be all stemming from the filler neck.

Nice...Gives me something to look forward to doing on my 2010 MKZ. Why can't they just put a plain ole' fuel filler cap on these? I learned how to operate one when I was about 5 years old...

it was one of Ford's better ideas. I guess they thought of those people that forget to put the cap back on after fill ups. this just gives me another excuse not go and buy a new car. I will just continue to buy old and repair what needs fixed on it and still run circles around the new ones. It's just my way of screwing with the government

Well so far this has just been a real problem on the fusions even to this day.
