Default Clamshell Release Latch

The driver's side release latch is not working. It appears the cable has become detached. Do you have to remove the glass to access that cable? I have a 2006...

Would like to help,, don't have slightest idea where we are, with what.

Can you be a little more specific as to what this part does when it works, exactly where it is located , maybe in mechanical terms ?

Default Clamshell Release Latch

To open the clamshell hood over the engine of my 2006 Ford GT you have to physically release each of two latches. These are located behind each seat at the hinge points of the hood. I can see the cable that attaches to the latch thru the glass. How do I get to that cable to reattach it? I'm thinking the rear glass needs to be removed to access.
