Default 1980 mustang fuel system parts

Hello. I have a new tank. It comes with NO accessories. I need the fill pipe and big grommet plus the gage sending unit - and smaller vent grommet. I have searched and searched but very limited sources. I would appreciate some links or other tips and short-cuts. Main question - - the sending unit supposedly fits 1979 to about April of '81. Next few years seem to be same - except addition of return line short pipe. I would like to know IF the dimensions of both senders are otherwise the same. In other words, can the later design be used in earlier tank - - after basically sealing off little return pipe? Has anyone done this? Reason I ask is because earlier sender harder to find and significantly more expensive and nothing available thru my usual suppliers - including RA. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

Updated: Aug. 20 - - - Well I decided to go ahead and order the expensive parts as I cannot wait any longer for positive responses. Everything will total about $800. (CDN) - which equals the purchase price of the car. Thanks for reading.
