Default 302 Roller or not

I currently have a 91 LX with a 302 w/carb and I am wanting to add some thump with a diff cam , I also have access (father-in-law) of a 85 5.0 HO roller engine and I cant decide if I should just keep what I have and add the cam or buy his HO roller and work with it.....would the roller engine be that much a difference over the non roller?

My choice would be made by which is in better shape. You can add roller (rocker) arms to the newer 302. As far as I know thats the only difference in that perspective. But I'm just curious, a 91 with a carb? 86 f-150's even had fuel injection. <-- Maybe someone could help me out on that one.
