1986 Ford Ranger smell of coolant and fogging interior windows
These are just a couple issues following the main issue which is rough idling sometimes shuts down during idle, loss of power while seemingly backing up in exhaust then short burst of power only to repeat sometimes backfires black smoke, smells of rich gasoline on outside... Somebody please help!

The problem of the windshield fogging, smell of coolant is most likely a leaking heater core inside the vehicle. You should also notice having to add coolant to the cooling system.
The stalling , black smoke would lead us to believe the fuel system is running rich, meaning it is getting more fuel than it needs.
Can you fill us in on some info like
How many miles presently on the vehicle
What kind of maintenance has been done
When was it done
What if anything has been worked on recently
There is a laundry list of things to check if the above items are unknown..
