Default 1994 ford ranger 3.0 won't start

Previous owner replaced head gaskets hasn't started since I have done a full tune up and won't start unless I set The timing 10 degrees before tdc the will start but runs rough and dies

I'm having a little trouble understanding your post.
Are you saying it has not started since the head gaskets were done or since you did the "tuneup" ?

There is a very good possibility the distributor was installed incorrectly.
There are a few videos on u tube that explain the proper procedure to do this.

Just throwing a little help you way. You probably already know some or all of these.

1. With no advance, the timing should be 10° BTDC.
2. Firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6 (Clockwise)
3. #1 at TDC "Ready-to-Fire" is at the 10-11 O'clock position
4. Passenger side front to rear = Cylinder 1-2-3
5. Driver side front to rear = Cylinder 4-5-6
6. Are you using the pre-existing ignition parts? (cap, rotor, plugs, wires) If so, I would use new. A simple cracked cap can cause erratic/no firing issues.

Use Common Sense provided some important info. One of the things you need to do now is to confirm the ignition system is set up according to that info.

How do I confirm that ignition is set up for that. It has all new parts and I already did what common sense said

Did you confirm that the spark plug wires go in the correct direction from the correct starting point and in the firing order he provided?
