Default 2001 ford ranger transmission pan

Hi people. Was wondering if someone could give me some advice on my tranny pan? this is the first problem i have had with my ranger since i bought it last year. i replaced the seal on the transmission pan last week but it still continues to leak around the pan, there does not appear to be any scratches or dents in the pan, i cleaned it real good befor putting it back on and it looks good but still leaks. any ideas?

Cork or rubber gasket? I've seen corkers bad from the get-go and seen then fail after a few thousand miles. Did you use and silicone? I always place a thin coat of the grey silicone on the pan, then put the gasket on top of that. Flip the pan over on my work bench and let set for about a 1/2 hour. Then fllip over, put a thin coat on the gasket, then install the pan onto a clean dry tranny surface (clean with BRAKE-CLEAN).Tighten the bolts evenly, continuing around in a circle until all are snugged evenly.
