I hit a concrete block on a local highway. Im sure you're wondering how the heck I didn't see it. Well a friend of mine was driving in his lifted F150 and had no problem clearing it. However I was following a bit too close and didnt have time to react. Needless to say, I knew what had happened upon impact.

So now I have a small hole in what I believe to be the transmission pan, however I'm not too familiar with these vehices yet. I do know that it is transmission fluid. (I'm more of a Turbo Eclipse guy. ) Anyways, I'm going to let the rest of the fluid drain itself. In the mean time I'm trying to price a new pan/gasket. Depending on how that works I might JB weld the hole until I can limp her back home and get her in the garage. I guess this means I'm in the market for a transmission pan if anyone wants to offload one, now would be a good time.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

 

The whole was in between 1/4" to 3/8". I cleaned the area, luckily the block did a great job of scuffing the surface. I applied an ample amount of jb weld with a plastic knife. I'm going to add to it tomorrow after it has sat overnight. The manual states the E40D 4x4 holds 16.4qts or 15.5L of Mercon approved fluid. $13 a gallon.

 

Most of that fluid is in the torque convertor, so start with 5qts thenstart the carand check the fluid level. It dependshow far you drove as to how much fluid you will need to add. If you stopped right away you might not need more than 5 or 6qts.
