2001 RANGER XLT- Turn signal issue. Any Thoughts?
My 2001 Ranger XLT has recently started turn signal issue. Usually signals work fine, but recently the right turn signal won't work...dash indicator doesn't light up,can here relay flashing faster. Unsure if actual front and rear signals are working because happens when driving and I try to get problem to occur when I'm home so can see if outside signal is failing also but can't get it to. I'm sure with flasher relay clicking faster that they most likely are not. So far only right signal has done this. Anyone have any thoughts? I'm wondering if its the column switch?
THANK YOU in advance .

When you are home, open the car's door, press the hazard button, no key needed. Check the right hand side front and rear, you have usually one but could be both bulbs burned out or bad wire connection. If the bulbs are good then you have bad connection that your flasher relay thinks your bulb is burned or missing. When your turn signal indicator blinks faster than normal that's called hyper flashing. LED bulbs for example, are known to cause hyper flashing because your flasher relay thinks your bulb is not present with the low current draw, there are plenty of aftermarket flasher relay designed for LED bulbs, some even allow you to adjust the blinking speed.
If that doesn't help and you think you need some electrical diagrams and you can understand that and you also have a voltmeter, then read my signature below. When it comes to Ford nobody knows or cares what xlt is, always your engine size and 1st letter of your VIN if available.

Heiko,I want to say Thank You for your response...I actually went through everything last night- bulbs good, put conductor grease on all terminals, all wires and connections good, flasher good, everything checked on voltmeter. I don't have any need for Pictures(Schematics) I know where everything is and how its routed and works, probably from wrenching on vehicles for 28yrs, also could have been Ford,Chevy,Chrysler, etc., and still would have felt like wasting time adding in my engine size, and N from VIN since they wouldn't have anything to do with the question posted-would have felt like work@parts store asking if it's 2wheel/4 wheel drive when someone needs air filter. The problem was actually the Multi Switch, I'm not a Ford person this 1st. I was just asking on forum to see if someone had experienced before in hopes of going directly to the problem rather going through entire system, typing is a little easier

Also in this case ....when it came to Ford,XLT does matter. Being the multi switch is the issue, you know the thing that is different because of the XLT trim package which adds cruise control on steering wheel. Which gives us a 16pin multi switch and not the 14 which doesn't interchange with XLT option of cruise control. I figure ONLY need info that is pertinent to my question, which so happened to be the info(XLT) was detrimental to obtaining correct multi switch to fix the initial Posted problem. And so happens, I didn't need the 3.0 engine or the N of the VIN to accomplish this.
