Bought my new 05 Ranger in July of last year. Two weeks later the fuel pump died. Yesterday my Ranger just stopped running on the way home from work as if I had run out of gas. Pretty sure that"s what happened, (it"s at the dealer's now) another fuel pump died. Is this common? I hope not. I love my truck but I want the dependability that usually goes with a new vehicle.

 

i am not for sure what went wrong with your trucks fuel pump. i would ask the mechanic what went wrong. if he says the fuel pump just went out then maybe you just got a bad pump. i have not heard of that happening to many of the 05 rangers. at least its under warranty and you dont have to pay for it.
