Default 4.0l SOHC V6 rebuild

I'm in the process of rebuilding the 4l V6 SOHC from an '03 Explorer that died from death rattle (timing chain fail). Does anyone have experience with the DNJ piston kit for this engine?
I have a question about the crown marks on PN P428. Does the triangular indent indicate the front side of the piston or does it point to the front side of the piston?

I've also posted this to the Explorer grp.
Thanks

It took some detailed measurements to identify the 0.050" offset from center on the wrist pins to figure this out. The mark on the piston is the front side, why they used an arrow shape is beyond me.
