Default 94 ranger with 4.0l overheating

Hey everyone I got myself a 4.0l ranger and it's overheating any suggestions would be great it has 364000k on it the rad had a huge hole in it so I replaced that as well as the thermostat boils coolant into the overflow but never comes gets too full can't really tell if it's blowing it into the exhaust cuz it's still pretty cold here and we'll everything smokes lol when I take the cap off it takes a second then all of a sudden got a ton of coolant coming out the rad and when I take the hose off at the heater core it gives short little bursts of coolant please help

Not knowing the entire history of the hole in the radiator what you can try is to remove the thermostat and run the engine with the radiator cap off and watch for bubbles coming out to the top of the radiator. if you get a continuous stream you could be looking at a head gasket or worse. Let us know what you got, we might be able to go further.

Sounds like the fins on your water pump are worn down to the point that it can't move, or is barely moving any coolant. Being that many miles and the cost of a water pump ($25-50) vs an engine, I'd go with a water pump.

Use Common Sense brought up a good point. It is possible the impeller on the water pump is slipping and yes that many miles says a lot especially if the pump has a lot of miles on it.
