Default 98 ranger xlt, cant get the heat off ?

Dying here.......90 today and the truck is letting heat in the cab, even with the dial turned off and the setting on cool. Feels like the heat is turned on without the blower turning. What do I look for ???? Dial doesn't seem to make a difference turned one way or another. Usually I would hear something shut like a vacuum door or something like it. Nothing? What do I do......? Sweating my ..... off !

If you have the mechanical system(not electronic) can you hear the doors change sounds when function selector is operated? If not, check the vacuum line from the engine to the inside of the vehicle. It may have separated or disconnected.

Default Heat

I do not hear anything closing. I see behind the glove compartment that there is what looks like a plunger thingy. I try and push down on the rod but it doesnt stay shut or close. I cant find anything else there. I am still inspecting the vacuum lines. Get back to you tomorrow. Dark here now. Thank you, Matt
