Default AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Let's see, im 19.... i have a 97' 4.0l ranger 4x4 el-t(xl-t)w/e i just got it yesterday from my uncle it's fully loaded and has 332000HIGHWAY km .... ummm i took it off a small side road and used the 4x4. (by the way my first time) i was with a friend and we got stuck. trying to rock it forwards and back trying to get it out i started to hear a whirrrrrrrrrr type sound and the forward drive didnt work ... but yet in reverse the tires were spinning. i would like to know if anyone know's what i have F****D up on my truck and what more performant part i could replace it with and the price tags (if anyone can help) like i said i know nothing of ford and i just got the truck 7 hours prior to blowing whateverit is i blew anyways

I THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND EFFORT

Sounds like you've damaged either the tranny or the tranny case. You might have stripped some
of the cogs off the gears. Take it to a good shop and get them to look at the transmission and/or
transfer case.

Good Luck

ORIGINAL: Feivel

has 332000HIGHWAY km
Most of us would understand that better if it was in miles. Conversion- 332000km= 206 295.236 miles. It is still a crapload of miles for a 97'
Where are you located that the odomitter reads in km's?
As for a what happened, I would say the tranny. you don't say if it is auto, so I am going on that it is. your options would be to get a rebuilt tranny (after 332000km or 206,000 miles it was probably time anyway), get a rebuilt and have a tranny specialist build it up stronger, get a stronger auto or get a good indistructable five speed. probably all you need is a rebuilt tranny- it was worn out, and unless the engine is producing more power than it came from the factory with, it should stand up to another 206,000 miles.
