Clutch problem
I have a 1991 Ford Ranger XLT with a 4cyl engine. A few months ago the truck started using clutch fluid. It was not leaking out, I guess it was draining into the transmission. I had to refill the reserviour once or twice a week. One day I was driving the truck, I stopped. When I attempted to go the clutch pedel went straight to the floor with no resistance. I replaced the master cylindar. After replacing the master cylindar I could get the truck in gear, but it was hard at times. The fluid also quit leaking into the transmission. When I push the clutch in I can hear a whinning noise that stops when I let off the clutch. The truck is still not drivable. I have been told that it might be the slave cylindar. I have also been told that the slave cylindar may need bleeding. I have bleed the slave cylindar a few times, but it has not helped. I would appreciate any help. I will try to answer any questions.
The slave cylinder is located in the worst possible location. You can try to gravity bleed it. If the slave is still good, get a stick and push onto the clutch pedal and push it against the seat for a few hours (making sure it is full of fluid) and let the fluid come out by it self. This system is very hard to bleed and that always work for me.
