Default EGR Malfunction

My 98 ranger is reading a diagnostic code of P0401, EGR flow insufficient detected. I'm wondering which part of the egr this could be. Valve? Sensor? Please help.

usually the dpfe sensor will cause this code. I'm betting this is a 3.0 liter Ranger?

Actually it's a 2.5 L. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll give it a try.
