ok i went to autozone and bought a new egr vavle the only problem is i dont think i have one on my truck or i cant find it
i read my haynes manual and it tells me where its suppose to be and then it says 2003 and new models dont have one well i have a 2000....so acording to it and autozone i should have one but i cant find it and i do see a cap on the exhaust manifold....DOES ANYONE KNOW IF I HAVE ONE OR WHERE IT IS LOCATED???

depending on the engine you have its located in different places. On a 2.3L the EGR valve is dead center on the rear of the engine behind the coil pack between the fire wall. sould see this round disk looking thing with a small hose coming out of it from the top. if you have the 3.0L its located on the driverside of the engine behind the throttle body you will see the round sawser looking piece with a small vacuum hose looking coming from the center top of it and its hooked to a small pipe with 2 hoses. 4.0 L is almost the same as the 3.0 L, look for the distinctive part silver sawser with hose port and cast iron 90 degree coupler.

 

i have the 4.0...i looked in all those places and no egr valve i have the one from autozone to try to match up but nothing looks even close to it

does anyone have any pictures they can post to help me out??
