im new to repearing on trucks i repaired with my dad my 1990 tempo before i got my trtuck was a lot easy the ploblem im having is the gasket is leaking from the oil pan it has over 10000 miles on it and everysaid are you sure its the gasket and im positive it is the problem im having is i will probably be renting a engine host i have to raise the engine 2 to 3 inches to take the off the pan the pan is off and the starter to just have to raise the engine i read the book and it dont say where to i have put the hoist cable to raise the engine a little to drop the pan. please help my ranger is a 2000 3.o 6 cycyle engine automatic that what sucks.

hey i have a question does anyone know where a jack repair place is to take a engine jack and a floor jack my does has a old engine jack but its rustend and needs new seals need to take it to a repairer if anyone knows where one is please email me has to be in sc though thank you.

You must unbolt the motor mounts and look for two hook loops- one on each exhaust manifold - to lift the motor. Otherwise most people unbolta bolt on each manifold and shove a little longer one with a washer on through a chain to each side. If you want a new lift cylinder for the engine lift - Harbor Freight tool storessell them if one's local to you. There's a local guy that does jacks and hydraulics in PA but I can't say as who would local to you. Maybe look in the phone book for hydraulic repair or jack repair.
