Default Ford Ranger speed sensor

I have a 2000 Ford Ranger. I purchased a $20 speed sensor I need to replace. One mechanic told me it was in the rear, another told me it was in the front. Does anyone have any idea where this this belongs?

Default RE: Ford Ranger speed sensor

what do u mean by "speed sensor", i'm thinking that u mean speedometer cable, and if you have a 4x4 it's usually located on the rear of the transfer case, or if you have 2 wheel drive, it'll be on the transmission somewheres
