Default Heater fan

Im a new owner of a 1982 VW Caddy Diesel. Im trying to get the heater fan to work. I know the blower motor is good has been tested. Im on the hunt for a heater fan switch but I was wondering if there were any other components that could be preventing it from working a relay somewhere?. Any input would be greatly appreciated Its going to Canada and a heater is necessity Thanks, Jim

Very common for all vehicle is what's called a blower resistor pack. It essentially limits current to the fan according to the position you set the **** too. These parts generate alot of heat and are prone to burning out.
