Default How much can I pull?

I'm looking at getting a new boat, I want to know how much my truck can pull. Currently I own a 2001, 6 cyl 3.0L auto. If I were to get a frame mounted hitch, how heavy a boat could I pull without hurting my engine because obviously I didn't think about pulling a boat when I bought this truck. Thanks!

I believe the MAX for the 2001 Ranger is 5,000 lbs depending on your engine, tranny, gear ratio set up...

I believethe sticker on the driver side door jam should tell you what the tow wieghtr it can pull. And it should say in your manual as well. Look in the index for towing for the correct page.
