Default MAF Sensor

HI Guys! I'm new to the Ford world and have some question. I have a 98 Ranger 2wd 3.0L. Has anyone cleaned their MAF sensor? I've done it to GM products with great results. I use electrical cleaner and give it a good dousing. Can I do this with the Ford? ???? ?

Thanks!!

I'm fairly sure that it wouldn't hurt it.

Just an update - I cleaned out the MAF with a spray electrical cleaner. I wasn't able to take it apart cause I dont have the star tools(not sure what they are really called). I disconnected the unit from the duct work and sprayed down the tube a bunch of times and let it dry. I would have liked to wipe any dirt off the wires and inspect them but I couldn't get to them. Anyway, it brought my high idle down about 400 rpms and has much better acceleration. It really does need a tune up but I have other projects in front of it. I'm sure with a tune this thing will run like a champ! Thanks for your input.
