Default OBD connector

2000 Ranger. Code reader will not come on when connected to vehicle. I know reader works on other vehicles. Is there a fuse that could cause the port to not work.
Truck has check engine light on and runs like crap, need to retrieve codes.

maybe you have a bent pin in the port or in your connector

have a 2001 F150 and 2001 Explorer, works perfect on them. OBD tester is brand new, doubt there is a problem with it.
