same front suspension parts since 92'
I have a 92' Ford Ranger with 2.9 V6. I have the same front suspension parts since car purchased in 1992 with current 220,000 miles. I notice the steering wheel is misaligned with straight driving path of vehicle. I do get abnormal front tire wear also. I never bother with front end alignment. Seems like waste of money.
Should I go ahead and replace certain parts such as bushings, tie rods, bars, etc. since it's been so many years?
Thanks,
Dave

RE: same front suspension parts since 92'
Brian, thanks for responding to my inquiry. I shoould explain why I said "aligning is a waste of money. It seems that the front end can go out of alignment again not long after you have it aligned. Could be driving over a pothole, or driving on unimproved roads to go camping.
Surpisingly, I don't have to change out tires that frequently, and I don't buy the high end tires. I drive carefully and rotate the tires often. I have not aligned my Ford Ranger since 1998 or 1999.
For the sake of giving good advice to the other readers, technically I know your are right. Front end alignment is not a waste of time
