Is she dying?
My '97 Ranger has developed a case of no nuts. When I attempt a hill, she has very little power. Down shifting seems to make it worse. When I come to stop she wants to konk out. Not every time but more and more frequently. I have a few ideas but I am a sprinklerfitter not a truck mechanic. Valves? Bad gas? Tune up? Fuel filter? If some one has an idea I'd be greatful.
There's several things that could cause your problem. The first place I'dstart ischecking the computercodes - AutoZone will do it for free. Please let us know the results, and we'll try to help you troubleshoot from there.
Does your vehicle seem to run better when cold? Progressively getting worse the longer you drive it. Sound like you have a clogge cataylitc converter to me. If you can remove the O2 sensor from b4 cat and drive you will notice instant improvement if this is the case.
does your truck randomly shut down at stop signs and u said that it lacked power on hills I've seen somthing like this on toyotas. It almost sounds like a vacum problem. I could be wrong but hey its worth checking out what can it hurt?
